How to make freeze-dried apple slices?
Prepare fresh apples: Choose apples that are fresh, ripe and unblemished. Wash and remove peel and pit.
Slicing: Use a blade or food processor to cut the apples into even slices. The thickness of the piece can be selected according to personal preference, but it is usually about 0.3 to 0.6 cm.
Antioxidant treatment: Soak the cut apple slices in a small amount of lemon juice to prevent oxidation discoloration.
Pre-treatment: Boil the apple slices and optionally add a little sugar water or honey to sweeten them. The boiling time is usually 2-3 minutes.Cool: Place the boiled apple slices in cold water to cool quickly.
Freeze-drying: Place the cooled apple slices on the freeze-drying machine and follow the instructions. Generally, the freeze-drying process takes 12 to 24 hours to complete.
Storage: Place freeze-dried apple slices in an airtight container and store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
